This programme gives you an idea on how you can support your liver so that it can perform it's functions effectively. It's about giving your liver a break and nourishing your body with goodness.

The programme is suitable for meat-eaters, vegans and vegetarians. 

During the 10-day programme, we will focus on improving liver function using a diet and lifestyle plan that is specifically designed for this purpose. If you often feel sluggish and drained then your liver is probably not working at its best. The liver has a myriad of important functions in the body: 

  • Bile production - helps eliminate waste and break down fats in the small intestine during digestion

  • Making certain proteins for blood plasma

  • Production of cholesterol and special proteins for fat transport through the body

  • Conversion of excess glucose into glycogen for storage (glycogen can later be converted back to glucose for energy) and to balance and make glucose when needed 

  • Processing of haemoglobin for iron storage

  • Conversion of toxic ammonia to urea - end product of protein metabolism, excreted in urine

  • Clearing the blood of drugs and other toxic substances

  • Regulating blood clotting

  • Helping the immune system by making immune factors and removing bacteria from the bloodstream

  • Clearance of bilirubin, also from red blood cells - accumulation of bilirubin makes skin and eyes yellow
