Qualified Nutritional Therapist
Health Coaches Academy Certified Health Coach
Hi everyone, I'm Michelle, a South African Nutritional Therapist, living in London since 2008. Having no idea what I wanted to do for the rest of my life when I was 19, I completed a degree in Finance and Economics. I then bounced around from one finance job to another, looking for my passion. But it wasn't there. During my time working in Finance, I often saw over-worked colleagues suffering from stress, low energy and eventually burnout trying to keep up with their punishing schedules. I too had a very stressful life, managing a large team and working long hours to achieve deadlines. I suffered from Pre-menstrual Syndrome, which affected my life and relationships.
This led me on my own journey to find a way to feel better and happier. I visited several practitioners looking for a 'quick fix'. Frustrated by the lack of results, I began taking responsibility for my own health, primarily through diet and lifestyle changes. I started noticing huge differences in my life, having more energy, feeling happier and generally healthier. I started giving colleagues around me informal advice, this is how my curiosity erupted. I learnt first hand that to achieve long term, optimum health, each person needs to be treated as unique, factoring in their personal lifestyle, diet and environment. I set up Live Better Health to help people on their journey to improved health. I now provide individual diet and lifestyle advice worldwide online and in my private practice in London.
It seemed like a no-brainer to also work in corporate wellness having a unique understanding of the challenges that companies face in relation to increasing employee mental health issues, rising sickness absence rates and costs of employee medical screening. I specialise in nutrition-centered employee wellbeing programmes. I have been delivering successful Employee Wellbeing programmes across several industries with a key focus on sleep, stress, mental health, gut health and resilience training. I am experienced in the effective delivery of large projects such as working with the employees at Citywire, maximising their engagement and achieving measurable results.
